What exactly is a gravity bong and how does it function?

Gravity bongs, also known as geebs, funnel smoke through water and into the consumer's lungs using two empty plastic bottles. Gravity bongs are simply bottles with a bowl of cannabis on top that are immersed in water. As the cannabis burns, gently draw out the water to fill the container with smoke. Place your lips over the opening of the bottle and squeeze the bottle downward to allow gravity to force the smoke into your lungs. It's finished!

Is it possible to get high using gravity bongs?
In a nutshell, yes. A gravity bong's high concentration of smoke fills your lungs significantly more than a pipe or joint would. When you inhale the contents of the smokey container, you are effectively inhaling the smoke from a full bowl of cannabis in one breath. Gravity bongs are therefore not for the faint of heart. It's an old school form of intake that gives even expert cannabis users who aren't accustomed to it a hefty dose of THC.

If you're looking for a touch of nostalgia with your cannabis intake, here's a simple tutorial on making your own gravity bong out of common home items. (Warning: Inhaling flammable materials from a plastic smoking device may be hazardous to your health.) You do so at your own risk.)

Is it possible to make or purchase gravity bongs?
If you're a first-time cannabis user or have a low tolerance, starting with a gravity bong is generally not a good choice. Gravity bongs, on the other hand, are a great DIY setup for beginner to experienced users since they provide smoke quicker than other techniques. Do you dislike doing crafts? Add one of these gravity bongs to your collection if you want a strong and unique smoking experience.

Is it okay to drink from water bottles?
When heated, PETE or PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic bottles used for handmade bongs and smoking devices might leak toxins (like the water left in a hot car after being left in a hot bottle). When the heat is applied, the chemicals in the gravity bong may be drawn into your lungs.

Researchers are continuously investigating the effects of exposure to this sort of radioactivity on the human body. Marijuana users often eschew plastic smoking devices in favour of glass or silicone as a precaution. If you want to create gravity bongs out of plastic materials, think about the hazards and continue with care.

How to Make a Gravity Bong at Home
First, get the following items:

a bottle made of plastic (16-20 ounces is ideal)
A 2-liter plastic bottle or a bucket
Foil with aluminized coating
Sharp knives or box cutters
The gadget pierces the skin.
1 gramme of your favourite cannabis strain (at least)
Gravity bongs may seem scary if you don't know where to start, but the technique is really fairly simple. You can create your own gravity bong using items you probably already have in your house in less than 10 minutes with a little innovation, creativity, and persistence.

Step 1: Take the smaller bottle and cut it in half.

Use your box cutter to cut off the bottom of your smaller bottle. As a result, don't cut too much of the bottle bottom off to get a greater dose.

Step 2: Cut the bigger bottle in half.

Cut the bottom off your 2 litre bottle and fill it with water. If you're using a bucket, make sure it's full of water.

Step 3: Punch a hole in the top of the bottle cap.

Using your box cutter or scissors, cut a hole in the cap of the smaller bottle. The opening should be big enough for air to go through, but not so large that the foil (and cannabis) fall into the water.

Step 4: Make the foil basin into a bowl.

Wrap aluminium foil around the top to create a bowl divot for your cannabis. You may make the bowl as deep as you like to by using foil to protect your cannabis from dropping into the water below. To keep cannabis from leaking, the foil may need to be trimmed off and moulded. If you're searching for a health hack, try this metal bowl component made exclusively for gravity bongs.

Step 5: Make holes in the foil with a fork.

A sharp poking instrument is required to make holes in aluminium foil. Make sure the foil doesn't tear! Three to five holes are required for adequate ventilation.

Step 6: Fill the bottle lid with cannabis.

Screw the foil-wrapped cap on last. Fill the foil-wrapped bottle top with your favourite cannabis strain.

Step 7: Fill a small water bottle halfway with water.

This is when things become a little complicated. Submerge the smaller bottle in the bottom of the bigger bottle (or bucket) until just the top remains above water. Wrap the foil-wrapped cap of the bottle around it securely, then screw it on.

Step 8: Light up your marijuana

Light the cannabis and carefully remove the smaller bottle away from the water as the larger container fills with smoke. If the bottle isn't filled with smoke, check sure the top is properly screwed on and there are no holes or gaps on the side of the bottle. Because the leaking of your gravity bong might jeopardise it, some trial and error will be required before you can get it to operate.

Step 9: Remove the cap.

After your bottle has been filled with smoke, the following step is to put your lips over the opening.

Step ten: Submerge the bottle in the water.

Gently push the bottle back into the water. As the water runs into the bottle, your lungs will be filled with smoke.

Cannabis smoke will be colder and have a higher THC content after being filtered via water. For the greatest results, prepare ahead of time and avoid breathing too much smoke. This product should be used with care by cannabis users of all levels, since it will cause them to cough!

Is it necessary to change the foil in your gravity bong on a regular basis?
You may reuse the foil with a gravity bong. You won't need to replace it until the foil tears or the perforations get blocked, preventing appropriate ventilation, in which case you should.
